What we do

At the ZPK Foundation – the Foundation of the Union of Poles of the city of Kyiv, we are driven by a shared vision of building cultural bridges, fostering mutual respect, and strengthening cooperation between the peoples of Poland and Ukraine. Established in 2014, the foundation was born out of the growing impact and outreach of the Union of Poles in Kyiv, and has since evolved into a vibrant platform for intercultural exchange, youth empowerment, and educational advancement.

Our foundation works at the intersection of culture, education, art, and social dialogue, with the aim of encouraging lasting friendships, understanding, and cooperation across borders. We believe that through honest dialogue, creative collaboration, and the empowerment of young minds, we can contribute to a more connected and harmonious future.

Here’s a closer look at what we do:

1. Promoting Intercultural Dialogue

We organize a wide range of promotional and social campaigns designed to bring Poles and Ukrainians closer together. These initiatives focus on nurturing good-neighborly relations, dispelling stereotypes, and building trust. Whether through community meetings, youth exchanges, or educational outreach, we create spaces where people can engage in meaningful cultural conversations.

2. Language and Cultural Education

Understanding a culture starts with learning its language and traditions. That’s why we conduct Polish language and culture courses for people of all ages – both in Ukraine and abroad. These integration programs not only provide language skills but also deepen participants’ appreciation for Poland’s rich cultural heritage. Our courses are often accompanied by cultural workshops, lectures, and interactive events that bring learning to life.

3. Support for Youth & Talented Individuals

Investing in the next generation is at the heart of our mission. We provide scholarships, grants, and awards to talented children and young people, helping them pursue their academic, artistic, or scientific dreams. We believe in recognizing potential and nurturing creativity, and our support programs are designed to give young people the confidence and tools to thrive in an international environment.

4. Artistic and Cultural Exchange Projects

Modern art is a powerful medium for dialogue. We organize art residencies, open-air workshops, cultural festivals, and international conferences, giving artists, students, and thinkers a chance to collaborate across borders. These creative projects often lead to new friendships, joint ventures, and lasting cultural impact. We see culture not just as entertainment, but as a meaningful vehicle for dialogue and social change.

5. Events That Connect and Inspire

We are proud organizers of concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, and conferences that celebrate the rich ties between Poland and Ukraine. These events bring communities together and offer opportunities to share stories, ideas, and artistic expression. Whether in Kyiv, Warsaw, or elsewhere, our events aim to inspire, inform, and unite.
